Alex & Kyle Quaaout Lodge Canada Day Wedding

July 5, 2018

Alex and Kyle met each other in grade 10 gym class sporting their red, white and black (the Ghosts) at Bishop Grandin in Calgary, Alberta. Tina told Kyle that Alex liked him (this is already sounding SO high school I love it) and he began messaging her on Nexopia. Their first date was a small house party and they had their first kiss as so many of us do as teenagers, in the basement of their parent’s house. Alex just remembers Kyle being very smooth about it. Kyle officially asked her to be his girlfriend on October 30th, 2007  in the school lobby and they have been together for over 10 years!! They have gone through graduations together, buying a condo and a house, adopting their sweet Frenchie Sonny Boy, multiple music festivals and travels with “the fam.” The fam is their tight-knit friend group who also happens to be the entire bridal party!

Kyle knew he was ready to marry Alex in 2014 but the timing wasn’t right with school. He ended up proposing July long weekend at their favourite place, Shushwap lake in 2016. Kyle took Alex out on their pontoon boat to have a picnic at this beautiful this little spot called skipping rock beach. Kyle (a talented videographer) said they should take a picture after so he set up a tripod on the beach and recorded his proposal which was shared during their wedding day for everyone to see. (I cried!!!) Kyle returned Alex back to the cabin and she was then surprised to see their closet friends and family waiting on the lake property to celebrate with them for the entire weekend of their new engagement.

Two years later they married on the same lake on Canada Day long-weekend surrounded by all the people they love. It was an unusually cold and rainy day but I have never seen a whole bridal party be so incredibly excited to be celebrating their best friends while getting soaked in the rain. We had umbrellas but they braved the elements and had the best time while doing it. This is a group of family that you wish you could be adopted in to. They love each other fiercely and were often found in huddles of group hugs and selfies.

Kyle is genuine, kind, easy to love and extremely thoughtful and romantic. Alex loves her people hard, very loyal, quirky and easy going. They both love to have fun, laugh with each other and explore. It’s truly unique for two people to find the love of their life so early. But the love they have is incredibly strong and even their families knew early on this was something special. 10years later and they still dote on another and look at each other in ways most teenagers do when they are falling in love for the first time. It was truly an honour to capture the love they have for each other, their friends, their family, and this amazing day.

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Bonville!!! And the whole “FAM!”
